Review of Replicant 3 by DVD-Copy-Review.Net:

Replicant3 converts a DVD movie that has already been decrypted to multiple CD-Rs so you can play it in a DVD player that supports VCD or SVCD format. The benefit of doing this is you don't need a DVD burner. But the drawback is that it requires multiple discs and is a painstaking process.

One feature that most others do not offer is the ability to copy DVD games. However, if you are looking to backup your DVD movies to DVD discs, this is not the product you are looking for. Also for the same price range there are products available that do what Replicant3 does and much more. Replicant3 does not come with a css decryption method installed. You will have to download a seperate program to perform this task.

Replicant3 comes with alot of additional software bundled with it. The most noteworthy program is the Replicant3: GAMES VERSION. This program provides the ability to copy PS2 games, PC games, XBox, and others. A great feature to keep backup copies of games that get alot of use.

Extras:

Replicant3 comes with a multitude of additional software programs. Replicant3: GAMES VERSION, which allows you to copy computer games. Pictureshow can take your digital pictures and turn them into a multimedia slide show presentation that can be watched on DVD players. Converzion allows you to turn your VHS movies into digital movies that you can then burn to a regular CD-R, and play in a regular DVD Player. Major Player is a DVD Player software for your PC with lots of features. Finally, Ripcord.MP3 is a program that you can rip copies of CD audio tracks to your computer, encode them into the MP3 format, and then play them on Ripcord.MP3 (which also acts as an MP3 Player).

Summary:

Replicant3 is not quite as feature packed as some other programs, but definately has its advantages with the ability to copy DVD movies onto CD-R, without the need for a DVD rom drive. Without the CSS decryption, this program will not copy your typical DVD movie. For the price of $29.95 (after rebate), and all the additional software that comes with it, you are pretty safe using this software as a novice.
