As it turns out, DVD X Ripper is nothing more than an e-Book. They sell this e-Book for $39.95 and group it with a bunch of freeware programs for file sharing, pre-written guides for making backups, and CD/DVD burning applications. There is also a claim to much more. After reading the FAQ we decided not to purchase this product to find out more since the disclosure in the FAQ was sufficient for us to realize this was not an appropriate package for someone looking for software to manage the DVD or Movie copying process.

The System requirements listed below are SPECIFICALLY for the software they bundle with the purchase of this product.

In the faq, the site discloses the fact that the 'minimum requirements' are for using Easy DVDx program (also a product of the same company).

DVD X Ripper bundles alot of extras with the purchase. This includes a 'free' 2 year membership to SharedMovies.com. SharedMovies.com appears to be under the same ownership as DVD X Ripper. You can copy PS and PS2 games however if you want to play them, you still have to buy a 'mod chip' that is sold seperately.

Summary:

Before dishing out $39.95, read their FAQ so you understand exactly what your money is getting you! For someone wanting a full featured solution, this is not the product for you.
